Circa is a family workshop based in the picturesque Wealden countryside. We make meticulously designed original pieces that we can customise to suit every home.
Bespoke furniture and homeware are necessary ingredients for turning an empty room into a visually striking and engaging space that brims with character, which is why we pour so much love and care into every custom piece we make.
Every single item you will find on this website has been the result of a long and careful process. We have spent a great deal of time on each stage of our products’ development – from the preliminary research and initial design to building and testing the prototype and then fine-tuning it – so that we can be sure it’s just right before creating the final piece. The end result is a product that we are more than proud to put our name on and use ourselves (which we often do!), and we love sharing with others the joy that all these wonderful pieces of furniture and homeware have given us.
Responsibly built custom furniture
Being a small family-run workshop allows us to add a personal touch to everything we make. We are not a factory churning out piece after piece after piece. Instead, we keep our workshop clear so that we give each and every product the attention it deserves. Our collection can be customised by size, colour, and finish, helping you to create harmonious pieces for your unique space. With our larger items – for example, our string chair and work-from-home table – we will make the product from scratch just for you until it’s exactly right. We make small batches of our laptop stands and plant pot stands to get the optimum yield out of the material.
Working this way also means we keep our waste to a minimum. Circa is an environmentally conscious business, and we make all our products using only responsible and sustainable materials (no nasty chemicals or glues are ever used). Your products will arrive in 100% recyclable packaging, and we even turn the sawdust into pellets and use them to heat the workshop during the freezing cold winter months!

During the early stages of design, we always consider what we’d like to have in our own home, the natural time cycles for products, and the real people at the other end of the process who will be using them. After all, we’re not just innovative designers and manufacturers; we’re also happy owners of a family home, which gives us an innate understanding of our customers and their requirements when it comes to homeware. Whether you’re looking for an item that showcases delicately engineered details, offers playful user interaction, or simply a practical problem-solving product, our smart designs cover it all. The collection aims to have an authentic and modest quality, made using materials such as steel and birch ply, which offer a range of alternate finishes. These strong, sustainable materials mean our reliable hand-finished furniture will withstand daily use and enjoy a long life in your home.
